Exploring Z-Wave Device Pairing and LED Control Solutions

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week. I wanted to share some of my recent experiences and thoughts regarding Z-Wave device pairing and LED control solutions, as well as gather some insights from the community.

First, I’ve been working on integrating several Z-Wave devices into my smart home setup. I’ve encountered some challenges with pairing, particularly with my August Lock, Aeotec 6 multi-sensors, and Iris/Centralite smart outlets. Despite following the official guidelines, I’ve had no luck getting them to pair with my Hubitat hub. It’s a bit frustrating, but I’m determined to figure this out. Has anyone else faced similar issues, and if so, how did you resolve them?

On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with controlling my LED panels using SwitchDim. It’s been a fascinating experience trying to replicate the functionality of traditional dimmers through smart controls. I’m particularly interested in creating a system where a short button press turns the lights on or off, and a long press adjusts the brightness. I’d love to hear if anyone has successfully implemented something similar or has any tips to share.

Another topic I’ve been thinking about is the longevity of SD cards used for continuous video recording. I’ve been using a Patriot Class 10 64GB SDXC card for my pan cams, and it’s been working well so far. However, I’m curious about the long-term durability of high-endurance cards like the Samsung Endurance Pro or the SanDisk High Endurance. Have any of you tried these cards and noticed a difference in performance or longevity? I’d appreciate any feedback or recommendations.

Lastly, I wanted to mention the incredible support and resources available in this community. It’s amazing how much we can learn and achieve by sharing our experiences and knowledge. I’m looking forward to hearing from all of you and learning more about your projects and solutions.

Thanks for reading, and I hope this thread sparks some interesting discussions!
