Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave integration with my openHAB setup, and I thought I’d share some of my experiences and questions with the community.
First off, I’ve been experimenting with the Sensative Guard strips and am curious to hear from those who’ve had success with these in combination with OH3. I’m looking to invest in about six of them, but I want to make sure they’ll integrate smoothly before taking the plunge. Any positive experiences or tips would be greatly appreciated!
On another note, I’ve encountered an interesting issue with my Jasco 3032 wall switch. After rebuilding my Z-Wave network, the switch no longer sends updates that OH can interpret correctly. The logs show that the switch is sending messages, but they’re not being processed as expected. I’ve noticed that other switches, like the GE14292, work flawlessly, but this particular model doesn’t seem to have the same Association Group settings. I’m wondering if there’s a configuration step I’m missing or if there’s a workaround to get this working seamlessly.
Switching gears, I’ve also been exploring the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module for controlling non-Zigbee lamps via Homey. While the on/off functionality works perfectly, I’m struggling to get the dimming feature to respond to long presses. If anyone has tackled this or has any insights, I’d love to hear about your experiences!
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about creating a morning briefing routine that plays across all my downstairs devices. They’re grouped correctly, but I’m not sure how to execute this without manually triggering each device. Is there a built-in feature or a clever workaround that allows for concurrent playback across multiple devices?
If anyone has advice, tips, or even just a shared experience, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other navigate the wonderful (and sometimes tricky) world of smart home automation!
Cheers,
