As I transitioned from Wink to Home Assistant (HA), I was thrilled to discover the ease of integrating Z-Wave devices using zwave2mqtt. After dismantling my old Z-Wave setup and setting up Mosquitto MQTT and zwave2mqtt add-ons, I noticed a significant improvement in device management. However, I encountered an intriguing challenge: while all devices functioned seamlessly through the zwave2mqtt control panel, their states in HA often appeared incorrect. Attempting to adjust these states through HA’s interface proved futile, with toggles reverting immediately. Debugging revealed that only one device responded, while others remained silent, despite functioning perfectly in the control panel. This inconsistency, though puzzling, didn’t dim my excitement for zwave2mqtt’s potential. With HA Core 0.108.1 and zwave2mqtt 0.6.0 running smoothly on my Raspberry Pi 3, I’m eager to resolve this glitch and fully harness the power of Z-Wave within my smart home setup. Any insights or experiences others have encountered would be invaluable!
