Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave devices and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions. I’ve noticed that some of my devices occasionally stop responding, despite having added repeaters and ensuring physical placement for optimal signal strength. I’m curious if there’s a way to visualize my Z-Wave network or view detailed statistics, such as neighbor relationships or signal strength metrics. In previous systems I’ve used, like HomeSeer, it was possible to see these kinds of details, which really helped in troubleshooting connectivity issues.
I’ve also heard about tools like Insteon’s ping tests, which provide insights into the success rate of communication between devices. I wonder if there’s something similar available for Z-Wave within the SmartThings ecosystem or through third-party apps. Being able to see the routes data takes through the network or perform diagnostic tests could be incredibly helpful in identifying problem areas.
If anyone has experience with this or knows of any resources or apps that provide deeper insights into Z-Wave network performance, I’d love to hear about them! It would be amazing to have a more proactive approach to maintaining my smart home setup. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!
