I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave Plus devices lately, and I must say, it’s been an eye-opening experience. I stumbled upon these Ecolink Tilt Sensors and was curious if there’s a device type already available for them in SmartThings. I know Z-Wave Plus offers extended range compared to standard Z-Wave, but I’m also wondering about other benefits they might bring to the table. Do Z-Wave Plus devices share the same mesh network as Z-Wave, or is there a different structure altogether? I’d love to hear from others who have experience with these devices and their mesh capabilities!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with group color control in my setup. I have two RGBW lights—a Philips Hue and an Aeon bulb—and I’m trying to synchronize their colors. I added both to a “ColorLight” group in OpenHAB and set up a color picker in the sitemap. However, I suspect the colors might not look identical due to differences in bulb quality. I’m curious if anyone else has tackled this challenge and if there are tips to ensure consistent color output across mixed brands. It would be fantastic to achieve a uniform look, especially for scenes like turning both lights blue or red simultaneously!
I’m also reflecting on my recent experience with Homey’s RC updates. I upgraded to RC38, but I noticed significant delays in Zigbee operations, which was quite frustrating. After some research, I found others facing similar issues, and it seems like a regression from RC37. I’m hopeful that future updates will address this, as my Zigbee setup was working flawlessly before. It’s a bit disheartening, but I’m glad to see the community coming together to troubleshoot and share solutions.
Overall, it’s amazing how much potential there is with these devices, and I’m excited to keep exploring and learning from the community. If anyone has insights or tips on Z-Wave Plus, group color control, or Homey updates, I’d love to hear them!
