Exploring Z-Wave Solutions and Smart Home Integration
Hello everyone,
I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave devices lately and I’m curious to know if there are alternative solutions that can integrate seamlessly with my existing EISY system. I came across this product on Amazon (though I know links aren’t allowed here) that claims to be a Z-Wave hub, but I’m not sure how compatible it is with my setup. Has anyone had success with third-party Z-Wave hubs?
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up rules for my thermostat. Specifically, I want it to adjust to away temperatures only when the security panel is armed. My schedule has the away mode set from 8 AM to 5 PM, but if someone is home during those hours, I’d prefer the thermostat to stay at the home temperature. Any tips on how to achieve this without manual overrides?
I also wanted to share some DIY fun! I recently set up a couple of themed lights for my home—Frosty the Snowman and Trolls. It’s amazing how these small projects can brighten up the space. If anyone has similar DIY ideas, I’d love to hear them!
Lastly, I’ve been trying to integrate my Hue lights with door locks using the Hue Emulation feature. Unfortunately, it doesn’t recognize the locks tagged as such. I’ve heard that tagging them as Lighting allows some functionality, but it’s not ideal. Does anyone have a workaround or know if Lock support is in the works for Hue Emulation?
Thanks for sharing your experiences and insights! It’s great to be part of such a helpful community.
Best regards,
