Exploring Zigbee Automation with MOES MS-108ZR

Hello everyone! I’ve recently been diving into the world of home automation, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey. I wanted to share my experience with the MOES MS-108ZR Zigbee Curtain Switch Module and how it’s integrated into my setup.

I’ve been using this module with a Raspberry Pi 4 running Home Assistant, paired with a SONOFF ZigBee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus. My goal was to automate my roller shutters, and while the initial setup was smooth, I encountered a few quirks that I thought others might find useful to know about.

One of the first challenges I faced was ensuring the shutters fully opened and closed. After some research, I discovered adjusting the calibration_time parameter made a world of difference. It’s all about finding the right balance to ensure smooth operation.

Another interesting point was the behavior of the switch buttons. Initially, pressing the lower button after raising the shutter would pause it, which took some getting used to. However, once I understood the logic behind it, it actually made the system more intuitive.

I’d love to hear from others who have worked with this module or similar setups. Have you encountered any unique challenges or found innovative solutions? Sharing experiences is what makes this community so valuable!
