If you’re looking for a reliable light sensor, I’ve heard great things about the Xiaomi Mijia Light Sensor. While it’s primarily designed for motion detection, its light sensing capabilities are more than sufficient for automating roller shutters or adjusting lighting based on ambient conditions. If you’re using OpenHAB, there are plenty of community resources available to help with integration. 
Overall, my experience with Zigbee devices has been overwhelmingly positive. The ecosystem is constantly evolving, and with a bit of patience and research, you can create a smart home setup that’s both functional and enjoyable.
