Exploring ZigBee Integration and Camera Configurations

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of ZigBee integration and camera configurations lately, and I thought I’d share some of my experiences and questions with you all. :rocket:

First off, I came across this open-source ZigBee gateway project called OpenZ3Gateway. It’s built using CC2652P and ESP12 modules, and it claims to be a simple yet effective solution for ZigBee coordination. I’m really intrigued by the SMA antenna support, which could potentially improve range and reliability. Has anyone here tried this gateway? I’d love to hear about your experiences or any challenges you faced while setting it up.

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Wyze cameras and their RTSP functionality. I understand that RTSP allows for direct video streaming without relying on external servers, which is a huge plus for privacy and performance. However, I’m a bit confused about how this works in practice. For instance, if the internet goes down, can the camera still stream video to a local device? From what I’ve read, it seems possible, but I’d like to confirm this with others who might have tested it. :male_detective::male_sign:

I’d also love to hear about how you’ve integrated your cameras and sensors into your home automation setup. Do you have any tips for optimizing performance or troubleshooting common issues? For example, I’ve heard that some users have had trouble with camera icons not updating correctly on their dashboards after certain actions. Any insights on that would be super helpful!

Lastly, I’m curious about how others handle the integration of multiple devices from different brands. I’m thinking of expanding my setup with some Aqara sensors and a Schlage lock, but I’m not entirely sure how to manage them alongside my existing Vera system. Is it feasible to use Vera as a secondary controller for Z-Wave devices, or should I stick to a single hub for simplicity? :person_shrugging::female_sign:

Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and experiences. It’s amazing to see how this community comes together to share knowledge and troubleshoot challenges. Let’s keep the discussion going! :speech_balloon:
