I’ve recently embarked on an exciting journey to enhance my home’s automation setup, and I must say, it’s been both enlightening and a bit challenging. I’ve invested in two Ikea Tradfri Zigbee repeaters to expand my network coverage, particularly aiming to extend the signal to my second floor. While I’ve managed to place one repeater on the first floor, I’m still not achieving the desired coverage upstairs. This has led me to wonder if there’s a way to visualize the current mesh network to better troubleshoot the issue. Can anyone share insights or tools that might help me map out the network layout?
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up automated lighting schedules. My goal is to have my Link bulbs illuminate at sunset and turn off at 11 PM. I initially thought this might require two separate automations—one for the sunset trigger and another for the 11 PM shutdown. However, I’m curious if there’s a more streamlined approach within the smart lighting ecosystem to achieve this without overcomplicating the setup.
As I continue to explore and integrate various devices, I’m constantly amazed by the potential of home automation. It’s a learning curve, but every challenge brings new opportunities to refine my setup. I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled similar projects or have tips for optimizing these systems. Let’s keep the conversation flowing and share our experiences! ![]()
