Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Zigbee meshing and smart thermostats lately, and I’d love to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First, I wanted to explore the concept of Zigbee meshing between different hubs. I’ve heard that Zigbee devices can sometimes communicate across different networks, but I’m curious about the limitations. For instance, if I have a Hue hub and a SmartThings hub, can they work together to extend the Zigbee mesh? I know that control might not be seamless, but would meshing still function to improve reliability and range? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s experimented with this or has insights to share!
On another note, I’ve been looking into smart thermostats for my cabin, which takes ages to heat up. The old Carrier Infinity thermostat we have is quite limited in terms of automation options. I stumbled upon the M4 TUYA WiFi Smart Thermostat and am considering pairing it with Homey Pro. Has anyone had success integrating Tuya devices with Homey? I’m particularly interested in how smooth the setup process is and if there are any quirks to watch out for.
I also want to mention my experience with the Inovelli Blue Series Zigbee switches. They’ve been a bit of a puzzle for me. Periodically, they get assigned group ID 163, which I don’t want. It’s frustrating because it disrupts my automation setup. I’d appreciate any advice on how to prevent this or if there’s a workaround to keep them isolated.
Lastly, I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with integrating different brands and systems. Have you found any unexpected benefits or challenges? I’m always on the lookout for tips and tricks to make my setup more efficient and user-friendly.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your insights and experiences!
