Exploring Zigbee Outlets for Power Monitoring

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and one of the challenges I’ve encountered is monitoring the power usage of specific devices. I’ve been experimenting with two different Zigbee outlets, the Peanut and the Sonoff S31, but I’ve run into some issues that I’m hoping the community can help me navigate.

First, let me share my setup. I have two hubs, both running the C-5 firmware but on slightly different versions: Hub 1 is on 2.3.0.124 and Hub 2 is on 2.3.1.129. The Peanut outlet on Hub 1 shows power options, which is great, but the Sonoff S31 on Hub 2 doesn’t display any power-related settings, even though they’re both labeled as generic outlets. This inconsistency is a bit puzzling.

What’s even more frustrating is that the Peanut outlet never reports any power usage—it’s stuck at zero. I’ve tried troubleshooting, resetting the device, and even checking the firmware versions, but nothing seems to work. I’m curious if others have experienced similar issues or if there’s a workaround I haven’t discovered yet.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s successfully monitored power usage with Zigbee outlets. What devices did you use? Did you encounter any similar issues, and how did you resolve them? If these two models don’t work, what alternatives would you recommend? I’m open to trying new devices or configurations to get accurate power readings.

This journey has been both challenging and enlightening. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned about Zigbee devices and power monitoring, even if the results haven’t been perfect yet. I’m hopeful that with the right advice, I can find a reliable solution that fits my setup.

Thanks in advance for any insights or recommendations you can share!
