Extending Wi-Fi Coverage with ESP8266 as a Repeater

Hi everyone! I’ve been exploring ways to improve my home’s Wi-Fi coverage, and I came across the ESP8266 module as a potential solution. I’ve read some tutorials online, and it seems like these modules can act as Wi-Fi repeaters. However, I’m curious if it’s possible to use the same SSID and password across multiple ESP8266 access points. This would be ideal because I want seamless roaming throughout my house without manually switching networks.

I’ve installed category 7 cables throughout my home, which makes it easy to set up access points on every floor. If I can configure the ESP8266 modules to share the same SSID and password, it would simplify things a lot. I’ve heard that having the same SSID allows devices to connect to the strongest signal automatically, which is exactly what I’m aiming for.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has successfully set up a similar system. Are there any specific configurations or challenges I should be aware of? Also, are there any recommendations for ensuring stable connectivity across multiple ESP8266 repeaters? I’m excited to try this out and would appreciate any tips or insights the community can offer! :rocket:
