I recently embarked on a project to extend my Z-Wave network to a second building, and I wanted to share my experiences and seek advice from the community. Currently, I’m running Home Assistant on Unraid with Z-Wave JS in separate Docker containers. I’ve tried using external Z-Wave devices as repeaters, but unfortunately, that didn’t work out. I have a second ZooZ 800 series Z-Wave controller, but I’m unsure how to network it effectively. Does anyone have experience with this setup or recommend a solution like the HomeSeer Z-NET G3?
On another note, I’ve been impressed by the recent improvements to the wake word functionality in Home Assistant. The initiative to collect diverse voice samples to enhance the wake word engine is fantastic. I participated by recording my voice, and it’s rewarding to see how this collective effort is making the wake word more accurate and inclusive. If anyone hasn’t contributed yet, I highly recommend it!
