Sorry for the inconvenience. The Aqara rechargeable Li-ion battery is not available for purchase at this time.

This really is a mandatory accessory you guys need to release. All batteries eventually fail. I bought 2 locks on Amazon for my home and have installed one of them so far. Before installing the other I’m waiting to see your response on this battery issue. It’s great that you went with a rechargable battery. Please make extras available for a reasonable cost, asap. Without knowing if its going to come out, many of us may just end up returning the locks as we don’t want to be “locked out” when our original battery inevitably fails at some point.

I fully agree. There absolutely needs to be a way to purchase extra batteries. If I have 6+ locks, I need to be able to hot swap batteries so I always have one or two fully charged and ready to go.
Hard to believe this might not be an option.

It isn’t just about hot swapping, but for a peace of mind about the longevity when the battery health eventually degrades.

It does look like certain countries have an option to purchase the lock in a package that includes an extra battery from the Apple Store. I’m not seeing this in the US yet. I think it may also be Nickel in color instead of silver.

Yes - certain finishes are Apple exclusives. They look really nice.

Also going to throw my hat into this conversation. Looking to buy 4 more of these locks. But only if I can buy an extra battery. They take way too long to charge in lock.

Agree with all the above. Would be great to have an extra battery charged up and ready to swap out rather than have to dangle a portable charger from your front door or pull the battery and have the lock not functional for an extended period of time.
Quick question, it’s so new so I’m sure no one has had to charge it up again (or at least I hope not) but I’m wondering if charging the battery directly is faster than charging in the lock. It seemed VERY slow the first time I charged it in the lock with the USB-C port.
