Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience setting up the EZLO Plus in my new home. It’s been an exciting journey, and I thought I’d document some of the challenges and solutions I encountered along the way.
First off, the installation process was straightforward. I connected the controller to my router and registered it through the EZLO app. It was smooth sailing at first, but I ran into a few bumps when trying to integrate other devices.
One of the first devices I tried to add was a Z-Wave Schlage lock. I followed the instructions carefully, but I couldn’t see any states or options to create a scene. After some research, I realized that I needed to update the lock’s firmware to ensure compatibility. Once that was done, everything worked like a charm!
Another hurdle was getting my Ecobee 3 thermostat and Ring Pro doorbell to work seamlessly with the EZLO system. I had to dive into the settings and manually configure the integrations. It took some time, but I managed to get them up and running.
I also encountered some issues with my chamberlain garage door opener using MyQ. After reaching out to the community, I found out that a simple factory reset and re-pairing fixed the problem. It’s amazing how a small tweak can make such a big difference.
For anyone else going through the setup process, I’d recommend checking your device firmware first and tackling one integration at a time. It might seem overwhelming at first, but breaking it down makes it much more manageable.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the EZLO Plus and the potential it offers for home automation. The ability to create custom scenes and automate routines has completely transformed how I interact with my home. If you’re considering making the switch, I’d say go for it! It’s definitely worth the effort.
