EZMotion Sensor and Camera Night Vision Setup Tips

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up the EZMotion sensor and dealing with night vision issues on my cameras. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’ve learned a few things along the way!

First, regarding the EZMotion sensor: I was trying to use it to trigger an outdoor light when it gets dark. Initially, the light sensor readings were stuck at level 41, no matter what. After some research, I found that adjusting the sensor’s settings in the Vera app helped stabilize the readings. Now, I can create a scene that turns on the light when the sensor detects low light levels. It’s working like a charm!

Now, onto the night vision issue. I have a couple of cameras set up outside, and I noticed that the night vision wouldn’t work when looking through a window. After a bit of troubleshooting, I realized that infrared doesn’t penetrate glass well. So, I decided to mount one of the cameras under the porch roof, away from the window. The night vision works perfectly now, and I can keep an eye on the backyard without any bright reflections!

One thing I’m still figuring out is how to schedule individual cameras when the system is disarmed. Right now, it seems like all cameras get turned on, but I’d prefer to have some off, like the indoor ones, to save on recording space. If anyone has tips on how to do this, I’d love to hear them!

Overall, it’s been a great learning experience. These devices are so versatile, and with a little tweaking, they can really enhance home security and convenience. Happy automating everyone! :rocket:
