I’ve been trying to update the firmware on my U100 Smart Lock but after countless attempts, it keeps crashing and my lock is virtually useless right now without the physical key.
It gives Error Code: -1 at the end of an attempt. For context, I’m near the lock so the range is not a problem and I keep checking the connection and it says it’s fine as well. I even tried replacing the batteries with no success. It also keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth no matter the proximity to the lock. Anyone has had this problem? How did you fix it? I’d appreciate any guidance. Thank you in advance!

@javierqn88 I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with your U100 Smart Lock’s firmware update. While the reference information doesn’t provide a specific solution for Error Code: -1 during firmware updates, I can suggest a few general troubleshooting steps that might help:
-
Firmware Update via App: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Aqara Home app to perform the firmware update. Sometimes, app updates can resolve underlying issues.
-
Stable Connection: Although you’ve checked the connection, make sure your Wi-Fi network is stable and strong. A 2.4G Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
-
Beta Updates: You can try enabling beta updates in the Aqara Home app by going to Profile > Firmware Update. This might offer a more recent version that addresses your issue.
-
Reset and Retry: Consider resetting your lock and attempting the firmware update again. Follow the instructions for resetting the lock carefully to ensure all settings are cleared before retrying.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be best to reach out to Aqara’s customer service team for more tailored assistance. You can contact them via the Aqara Home App (Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or by scanning the QR code below:
If you don’t have an Aqara Home account, please click here to create a ticket. I hope this helps, and feel free to share any additional observations or updates on your progress!
Sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please try the following steps:
- Turn off and then turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Kill and reopen the Aqara Home app.
- Try performing the OTA update again.
Let us know if the issue persists after trying these steps.
