Hello everyone! I’ve been experimenting with my new Fibaro Dimmer 2 and wanted to share my experience and some tips I’ve picked up along the way. Setup and Calibration I recently purchased the Fibaro Dimmer 2 and installed it with my Homey Pro. The lamp I’m using is a Lucide Vidal hanging lamp, which is dimmable. During the calibration process, everything worked perfectly—the lamp turned on, off, and dimmed smoothly between ‘almost off’ and ‘fully on’. It was a seamless experience, and I was really impressed with how responsive the lamp was during this phase. App Control Challenges However, when I started controlling the dimmer through the Homey app, I noticed some inconsistencies. The dimmer only responded at 0% or 100%, and any attempt to set it to 50% or another level resulted in it jumping back to 100%. This was a bit frustrating, especially since the calibration worked so well. Switch Control Issues Using the physical switch on the dimmer also didn’t go as smoothly. A single press would dim the lamp slightly before it turned back on at full brightness. Holding the switch down turned the lamp off, but releasing it just turned it back on without any intermediate dimming levels. Troubleshooting and Insights Given that the calibration worked perfectly, I suspected the issue might be with the settings rather than the hardware. I’ve been using the default factory settings, so I’m wondering if there’s a specific configuration I need to adjust. I’ve heard that sometimes dimmer settings need to be fine-tuned to work optimally with certain lamps. Tips and Solutions If anyone has encountered similar issues, I’d love to hear how you resolved them. From what I’ve read, adjusting the dimmer’s settings in the Homey app or using a third-party tool might help. I’m also considering reaching out to Fibaro support for more specific guidance. Conclusion Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I’m still optimistic about the Fibaro Dimmer 2’s potential. It’s a great product once you get it set up correctly, and I’m excited to continue experimenting with it. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing its performance, please share them! Happy dimming everyone! ![]()
