I’ve been using Fibaro Dimmer 2 for quite some time now, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. However, I recently encountered a peculiar issue with one of my dimmers. The lightbulb connected to it started switching on and off randomly. At first, I thought it was a software glitch, but after observing it for a while, I noticed that the behavior was inconsistent—sometimes it would stay on for hours, and other times, it would flicker multiple times a minute. I checked the app, and sure enough, the icon was reflecting the same on-and-off behavior. This was the only dimmer I hadn’t connected via the neutral wire, so I started wondering if that was the culprit.
After some research, I found that improper wiring can indeed cause such issues. I decided to take a closer look at the installation. Lo and behold, I realized that the neutral wire wasn’t properly connected. Once I fixed that, the random switching stopped immediately. It was a bit of a hassle, but it taught me the importance of proper wiring in smart home devices.
If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, I’d recommend checking your connections first. Sometimes, the simplest fixes can solve the most frustrating problems. It’s also a good idea to ensure that all your devices are correctly installed to avoid any unexpected behavior. Happy smart home tinkering! ![]()
