I’ve been using Fibaro Dimmer 2 for quite some time now, and I must say, it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. However, I recently encountered a peculiar issue with one of my dimmers. The lightbulb connected to it started switching on and off randomly. At first, I thought it was a software glitch, but after observing it for a while, I noticed that the behavior was inconsistent—sometimes it would stay on for hours, and other times, it would flicker multiple times a minute. I checked the app, and sure enough, the icon was reflecting the same on-and-off behavior. This was the only dimmer I hadn’t connected via the neutral wire, so I started wondering if that was the culprit.
After some research, I found that improper wiring can indeed cause such issues. I decided to take a closer look at the installation. Lo and behold, I realized that the neutral wire wasn’t properly connected. Once I fixed that, the random switching stopped immediately. It was a bit of a hassle, but it taught me the importance of proper wiring in smart home devices.
