I’ve been diving into the world of home automation, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! I recently set up a Fibaro Dimmer 2 behind a regular flip switch in my bedroom, and it’s been working wonders for my bedtime routine. The setup allows me to flip the switch three times to trigger a scene that turns off all the lights in the house. It’s so seamless, but there’s this tiny hiccup I’ve been trying to iron out.
Every time I flip the switch three times quickly, the light flickers on during the first flip before turning off completely. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’d love to eliminate it. I’ve heard that adding a small delay between each flip could solve this, ensuring the scene activates without the light briefly turning on. If anyone has experience with this or knows how to adjust the Fibaro settings to include a delay, I’d be thrilled to hear your insights!
On another note, I’ve been exploring Alexa integration with my smart home setup. It’s amazing how Alexa can control various devices, but I stumbled upon an issue when trying to stop a TuneIn radio station. The command worked perfectly through the Alexa app but threw an error when triggered by a rule in OpenHAB. After some digging, I realized it was a problem with the command syntax in the rule. Switching to a different command format resolved the issue, and now everything runs smoothly!
I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated Alexa with their smart home systems—what tips or tricks have you found useful? Let’s keep the conversation flowing and help each other make our homes smarter and more efficient!
