Fibaro RGBW Controller Color Picker Issue

I recently set up two Fibaro RGBW controllers in my smart home setup, and I must say, they’ve been a great addition. The ability to control color and brightness directly from my smartphone has completely transformed how I manage lighting in my home. However, I encountered an interesting issue with one of the controllers that I wanted to share and see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Both controllers were configured identically, and from the device pages, they appear to be working perfectly. The RGBW values update correctly, and the current effect ID reflects the active mode. However, when I added them to my dashboard, one of them displayed a blank color picker window. This was quite perplexing since the other device worked seamlessly. The one with the issue showed a light bulb icon instead of the expected color picker, which made adjusting the color a bit cumbersome.

After some research and troubleshooting, I discovered that the issue might be related to the device’s state variables. The working controller had a crntEffectId of 3 and a RGBW value of {green=0}, while the problematic one had a RGBW value of {green=5}. I’m not entirely sure what caused this discrepancy, but I suspect it might have been due to a slight variation during setup or a minor software glitch.

To resolve this, I decided to reset the problematic controller and reconfigure it from scratch. Surprisingly, after a factory reset and reinstallation, the color picker began working as expected. This experience taught me the importance of thorough configuration and the occasional need for a fresh start when dealing with smart home devices.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has any additional insights into why this might happen. It’s always reassuring to know that others have faced and overcome similar challenges, and it helps us all learn and improve our setups. Happy smart home tinkering! :rocket:
