Hey everyone, I’ve recently installed the Fibaro Roller Shutter module (FGRM222) to control my external venetian blinds, and I wanted to share my experience and some questions I have about optimizing its functionality. ![]()
First off, the module itself is a great addition to my smart home setup. It allows me to adjust both the blind position and the slat angle, which is perfect for controlling natural light throughout the day. The device integrates seamlessly with my system, showing up as a WindowShade with several capabilities like EnergyMeter, PowerMeter, SwitchLevel, and more. The SwitchLevel capability works beautifully for controlling the blind position using @Device.Level, which is a percentage value from 0 to 99. That’s super intuitive!
However, I’ve run into a small snag with the slat angle control, which is handled by the ‘value2’ attribute. While I can successfully adjust the slats using @Device.value2, I’m struggling to set the initial position of a slider to reflect the current value of ‘value2’ when the interface loads. Once I manually adjust the slider, it works perfectly, but the on-load initialization isn’t happening as I’d like. I’m wondering if there’s a way to automatically set the slider’s starting position based on the current ‘value2’ value. Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
I’ve managed to add ‘value2’ as an attribute and control it through the slider, so I know the functionality is there. It’s just the initial setup that’s giving me a bit of trouble. I’m hoping the community might have some insights or solutions for this. Let me know if anyone has tackled a similar issue or has any suggestions! Thanks in advance for your help. ![]()
Overall, I’m really happy with how the Fibaro Roller Shutter module is performing. It’s a reliable and versatile solution for blind automation, and with a bit more tweaking, I think it can become an even more seamless part of my smart home setup. Looking forward to hearing from you all! ![]()
