Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Fibaro Single Switch 2 into my SmartThings setup. I’ve been exploring various smart home devices and was excited to try this one out for controlling an outdoor light fixture.
Initially, I was a bit puzzled about whether this device would work seamlessly with SmartThings. After some research, I found that while there isn’t a dedicated custom handler available, the standard device handler works just fine with a little tweak in the settings.
One thing I noticed is the importance of proper calibration. I adjusted the sensitivity settings to ensure it only triggers when there’s significant motion, avoiding any false alarms. I also set up a scene where the light turns on for 15 minutes after detecting motion, giving me enough time to move around without it turning off too soon.
For those considering this device, I’d recommend checking the firmware version first. Updating it to the latest version resolved a few minor connectivity issues I encountered. Additionally, pairing it with a reliable outdoor light bulb with dimming capabilities really enhances the experience.
