Hi everyone, I thought I’d share some of my recent experiences with integrating the Fibaro Wallplug into my smart home setup. I recently decided to give Homeykit another try after installing it a while back, and while the Philips Hue bulbs work perfectly, I’ve had some issues with the IKEA bulbs and the Fibaro Wallplug. After some research, I realized that the IKEA bulbs weren’t working because I had imported them as groups instead of individual bulbs. I’ve since corrected that, but the Fibaro Wallplug still shows as “unknown” in Homeykit. I know others have had success with it, so I’m curious if anyone has any insights or troubleshooting tips!
On a different note, I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my smart home setup and came across some interesting ideas. For instance, I’ve been thinking about how to integrate thermohygrometers more seamlessly into my system. It would be fantastic if Govee could make their sensors compatible with Alexa or Google Home, allowing me to ask, “What’s the temperature in the living room?” directly through voice commands. This could also extend to humidity levels and average temperature readings, which would be incredibly useful for monitoring and adjusting my home environment.
Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is setting up a smart lighting system using Shelly devices. I’ve been impressed with their reliability and ease of use, but I did run into an issue with one of my Shelly Plus 2PM units. It wasn’t receiving the latest firmware update, while others were. After some digging, I found that manually checking for updates or using the Shelly app to force an update worked wonders. It’s a small fix, but it made a big difference in ensuring all my devices are running smoothly.
I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated various devices into their smart home setups. What tips or tricks have you found most helpful? Whether it’s troubleshooting firmware issues, optimizing device performance, or creating clever automations, I’m all ears! Let’s continue to share and learn from each other’s experiences. Happy smart home tinkering everyone! ![]()
