Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent experience with the Skybell ADC-VDB-105 camera and its firmware update process. I recently installed this device and have been working through the setup process, which has been a bit of a learning curve.
One of the first things I noticed was that the firmware update seemed to be failing repeatedly. The camera’s current firmware version is 3034, and there’s an update available to version 3045. I tried updating several times, and while the count would pass 900, it would inevitably fail with the message ‘firmware update failed’. At first, I thought it might be a connectivity issue, so I set up an additional wireless access point about 10 feet from the bell. The signal strength reports 95%, and the router shows a good connection at 90mbps. Despite this, the update still wouldn’t go through.
I reached out to the community here, and someone suggested checking if the additional features of version 3045 are worth the troubleshooting effort. Honestly, the camera seems to work fine as is, but I’m curious about what those new features might offer. I’m still planning to give the update another shot, maybe with a factory reset or a different approach.
In the meantime, if anyone has successfully updated their Skybell to version 3045, I’d love to hear about your experience or any tips you might have. It’s always reassuring to know others have gone through the same process!
Thanks for the support, and happy tinkering! ![]()
