Fixing Connection Issues with Wyze Video Doorbell V2

I recently faced connection issues with my Wyze Video Doorbell V2, and I wanted to share how I resolved it in case others are experiencing the same problem. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that the issue was related to the power supply. Here’s what I did to fix it:

  1. Power Supply Adjustment: I installed a 24V 0.5A adapter into my doorbell wiring. This step was crucial because the default power supply wasn’t providing enough power for the doorbell to function properly.

  2. Removing the Doorbell from the Line: I decided to remove the doorbell from the existing wiring to prevent any conflicts. This allowed me to use the chime through my Livingroom cam instead, which worked perfectly.

  3. Testing the Setup: After making these changes, the connection issues were resolved. The doorbell now works seamlessly, and I no longer experience any disconnections.

  4. Upgrade Consideration: I’m planning to upgrade to a digital doorbell in the future to replace the older AC unit. This will provide better integration and reliability with my smart home setup.

If you’re having similar issues with your Wyze Video Doorbell V2, I highly recommend trying these steps. They were simple to implement and made a significant difference in the performance of my doorbell.

I also think it would be beneficial if Wyze offered alternate power supplies for their doorbell cameras. This would help customers avoid the hassle of troubleshooting power-related issues. If you’ve had success with a different power supply setup, please share your experience below!
