I’ve been meaning to integrate my Flo water monitoring system into my smart home setup for a while now, and I finally took the plunge this weekend. It was a bit intimidating at first, but I have to say, the process was much smoother than I expected! ![]()

For those who haven’t heard of it, Flo is a fantastic device that monitors your home’s water supply in real-time. It tracks flow rate, pressure, and temperature, and even has the ability to shut off the water automatically if it detects a leak. That’s a game-changer for peace of mind, especially if you have a history of plumbing issues or are away from home often.
I followed the installation guide from this GitHub repository to set up a custom component in Home Assistant. The supported sensors include:
- Water flow rate (gpm)
- Water pressure (psi)
- Water temperature (°F)
The best part? The integration was seamless. I now have all these metrics neatly displayed on my dashboard, and I can monitor them from anywhere using my smartphone. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that I’ll be alerted immediately if something goes wrong with my plumbing.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve integrated Flo into their smart homes—what features do you find most useful? Are there any tips or tricks you’d recommend for getting the most out of this system? Let’s chat! ![]()
