I recently received a notification about an update for my Floodlight Cam, specifically version 4.36.11.5859. To be honest, I was hesitant to update because the previous firmware version, 4.36.10.4054, caused some issues with the audio recording feature. While I could still hear live audio streams, any playback recordings were completely silent, occasionally accompanied by random robotic screeching sounds. It was incredibly frustrating, especially since I rely on these recordings for security purposes.
However, after reading through the patch notes, which mentioned ‘bug fixes’ for the year 2021, I decided to take the plunge and update the firmware. To my relief, the update went smoothly, and the audio playback issue seems to have been resolved! The robotic screeching is gone, and I can now hear clear recordings from my Floodlight Cam.
This update has definitely improved my experience with the device. I no longer have to worry about silent recordings, which was a significant concern. It’s great to see that the manufacturer is actively addressing bugs and enhancing the functionality of their products. I’m now more confident in using this device for my home security needs.
