Hi everyone! I recently came across the Foscam GCI integration for Home Assistant and wanted to share my experience with the community. I’ve been using Foscam FI9826P cameras for a while now, and integrating them into my home automation setup has been a game-changer. These cameras are part of my security system, and being able to control them via HA has added a whole new layer of convenience and security.
I set up my cameras to work with window sensors. When a window is opened, the camera automatically moves to a predefined position and starts recording. It’s incredibly useful for monitoring my home while I’m away. The integration was straightforward, and the predefined positions feature has been a lifesaver for ensuring clear footage of potential intruders.
One thing I love about this setup is how seamlessly it integrates with my existing smart home ecosystem. The cameras work perfectly with my other devices, and the ability to trigger actions based on sensor inputs has really elevated my home security. I’ve also found the camera controls within HA to be responsive and reliable, which is crucial for a system I depend on.
If anyone has questions about setting this up or tips to improve the integration, I’d be happy to share my knowledge or learn from others’ experiences! It’s always great to hear how others have enhanced their setups.
