I use Home Assistant for most automations in order to improve response time, avoid Internet dependencies, subscription costs, and loss of functionality when a manufacturer discontinues support.
So I was happy to find that the FP2 was supported locally within Home Assistant. However, I noticed my zone related automations were wacky!
Fortunately, i discovered the Zone names were diiferent than I presumed. The Aqara app defaults zone names to Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, etc. as you create them, but does allow you to rename them. Home Assistant refers to Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, ?one 4, etc. and ignores any custom names you have implemented. Furthermore, Zone 1 in HA refers to the full sensor coverage area, and not Zone 1 as created in Aqara. Zone 2 in HA refers to Zone 1 in Aqara, Zone 3 to Zone 2, Zone 4 to Zone 3, and so on. Basically, in HA you have to add 1 to all zone #s in Aqara! It’s confusing initially, but it all works well once you figure it out.
