Does the FP300 on the Aqara website come with the magnetic mount? If not where can I purchase the metal rings to mount, like the FP2 uses?
What is meant with ‘only applicable to PS-S04D’?
I received my 2 FP300 sensors today but they did not include the metal plate. I have send an e-mail to Aqara support with the question if still can receive them.
There are two different models of the FP300.
PS-S04E: Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 × 1, User Manual × 1
PS-S04D: Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 × 1, User Manual × 1, Metal Plate × 1, Screw Kit × 1
And which one is sold on the Aqara store?
I saw that in the specs while browsing the page. Which version does the Aqara Store US sell?
Mine came from the Aqara Store US and it was the PS-S04E version without the metal plate and screw kit
I was fortunate to be able to order a number of the Aqara FP300 from the Amazon store. It’s been out of stock for months, and the day after I placed my order, it’s out of stock again. The Amazon web page for the FP300 (which is the page where you’re taken when you click on Buy at the Aqara web site) does not say whether it’s the model with or without the metal mount. It would be disappointing if I get the model without the metal mount. I’d prefer the model with the metal mount since I expect it will simplify replacing the batteries in the future, especially if the device is installed up high on a wall. For folks who received the kit without the metal mount, any mounting suggesting? Or maybe get a 3rd party metal mount that fits the FP300?
I happen to have each (different models) and I noticed the one that does not come with the metal plate seems to have small magnets inside the back of the sensor panel so it can still stick to any magnetic surface.
Hope that makes sense?
I wound up getting 1.5” fender washers. Unfortunately, I could not find washers where the screw would be countersunk, so if I use a screw, its head would stick out a little bit. I wound up using 3M command strips to mount the washers, and the. I took advantage of the magnet in the FP300. Using the washer/magnet would make it easier for me to replace high-mounted FP300’s. Yes, it’s possible to screw the back of the FP300 to the wall, and then move its tab and use a twisting motion to remove the sensor from its mount. However, this can be a tad harder to do than just removing the FP300 from metal plate, replacing the battery, and then mounting it via magnet to the washer.
I really with the the washer, screw, and drywall anchor were including. JUST ONE MODEL!! It’s not like the FP300 can be table mounted.
Microcenter sells the one with the metal mount and screw kit!
I ordered both of my FP300 in the EU, one through Tink and one through Alza, and the magnetic mount was included in the box both times. So it does not look like something that varies by retailer.
For my FP2 I bought a 3D printed mount, which has worked very well.
