FP300 stopped working properly

Hi all,

After 3 montha Fp300 stopped to work properly.

Random presence/absence detection, doesnt react all the time for clicking button to enter to configuration. As the result automations light on and light off when entering to kitchen completely doesn’t work.

I managed to execute a button to reset but problem is still there.

Never had issue with any of my fp300s but since today this one stopped to work as it should.

Hello, Zigbee or Thread mode?

Did this occur after a recent firmware update? Or any other event or change in the space to pin the change in behavior to?

Does this mean you hit the button on the device to reset?

Can you try to do spatial learning again to see if that helps?

Zigbee

Yes i tried spatial learning couple of times.

Got it. I would try contacting support. They’ll probably have you confirm basic troubleshooting, including a device reset, but in the event there is a problem with your hardware they would be your best chance at getting a resolution.

I had this problem once. I removed the sensor (don’t forget to disable the protection against accidental removal that is set on the gateway). I re-added the FP300. Re-learning. Once again, disable this setting before removing.

Consider pulling out both batteries for a few moments, re-insert them and reset the device. Start fresh and keep it simple.

Sometimes when a device crashes making numerous changes trying to fix it makes things worse. Clearing the device memory and clearing any associated hub memory jams might help put it back on track.

Stick with Zigbee and consider using a hub that is closer to the FP300 if you have that as an option.

What firmware are you running on? You tried a full reset to factory settings?

  1. Have you tried replacing the batteries?
  2. Are you connected to an Aqara Hub via Zigbee? Or a third-party Hub, like Home Assistant or Hubitat?

Batteries are Full. Its zigbee to M2 connection.

My other pf300 works perfect.

I’ve informed them about the issue. Let’s see what is going to happen next.

Look at the times detection.

Is that qhy it doesn’t detect absence straight away leaving the room?

Cheers

It’s been a week already, and Aqara sends me emails asking me to send photos, send pictures, put the sensor into a closed box, and see what happens, etc.

Now I’m just tired of this. I give up.

When I install another FP300 next to the faulty one, it correctly detects presence and absence. Falty unit detect presence from time to time and it stays in presence for hours.

I believe I have a faulty unit, and that’s the reason it doesn’t operate as it should.

Hello, sorry for the inconvenience you are having with the FP300 sensor. I may repeat the question from the support team, do you have this setting enabled?

I‘m sure that Aqara will replace the faulty unit! But unfortunately they test and figure out if it’s still working or not - the FP devices have lots of features and through this it can be sometimes be just a simple thing to improve and make the unit working correctly again
