I’ve held the reset for 5 seconds. Blonks 8 times then stops. I’ve removed the batteries also. Won’t add. It’s not in my Aqara app also. Help
please.

Reset the sensor—press the button on the sensor 10 times—and add it to the app after the reset.

10 clicks consecutive fast? or 10 times for blue lights 10 times?

Did it 10 times fast. Then blue lights and goes off.

I think it’s stuck. I deleted it to move it to a different room. Now it just won’t add back into the Aqara app

10 quick clicks on the sensor button will reset it to factory settings.
I did that. It still won’t add

I’ll rephrase. I clicked 10 times. Put it where it’s supposed to be. Went to add the device. Held the button for 5 seconds for blue lights. And it blinks 8 times and stops
After 10 clicks. It blinks 3 times
Disable the accidental deletion protection in the M3 hub settings and try resetting the sensor again; once reset, you can immediately add it to the app without needing to hold the button for 5 seconds.

This is what it’s doing when I got to press the button to add to the app
As @Raman.V said, go to the gateway settings and disable this “Accidental deletion protection” setting.
Ugh. Now it working. Thank you for that. Now I know what that does. But final question. Which is better. Zigbee or thread. I only have Philips hue integrated and Aqara devices. Almost 76. My Aqara devices are currently set to Zigbee. What’s the benefit (if there is one) for thread?
Zigbee Aqara is a very reliable system. I have practically no Thread. The Zigbee protocol has more settings than Thread. Please note, this is my subjective view at the moment. I have more than 170 Aqara devices in my house.

To further understand the question, Thread is suitable when there is a variety of equipment in the house (different manufacturers). Thread allows you to combine them into one smart home. Then you have to switch to Thread and lose the capabilities provided by Zigbee Aqara.
Although it is possible to combine, Zigbee Aqara is connected to the M3 gateway, and the gateway already creates a Matter channel. This is a description in two words.
