FP400 will the Functionality via Thread match the one over Zigbee ?

My Zigbee network is rather big - so i would prefer to use it via Thread

any hints / news on that ?

Yes, you could choose Thread or Zigbee and the functionality will be almost the same

If you look to the p100, the differences are quite big!

I run 8 FP300s around my house, all Zigbee, and one thing I learned the hard way on that device: AI Spatial Learning and detection range are Zigbee-only per the manual — Matter/Thread mode doesn’t get those. If the FP400 follows the same pattern, going Thread for network-simplicity reasons could cost you real features, not just be “almost the same.”

Regarding the power question, I haven’t seen any documentation yet or photos for the FP400 that show/say either way but with the shape and design, I would guess powered.

Hello.you have high expectations from an device like FP400.still zigbee as of now offers more options then thread because thread is still young then zigbee.some features will be the same but most of them will only be available on zigbee version.still using thread you could have some basic functions witch for many will be just enough.as for the FP400 we do not know yet how will be or what features will have on both thread and zigbee.From the photo aqara posted looks like will be powered by cable and not batteries witch make sense for such an device same like FP2

Not that difference, core functions would be same.

It will come with the USB-C to USB-C cable and you will need an extra 5V1A adaptor

On FP400, both thread and zigbee have developed the same private functions on aqara home. If it makes you feel at ease. But from the point of connection stability, I would really recommend zigbee.

Yes, usually. However, FP400 is better than other products in dual-protocol compatibility. It has developed almost all private protocol functions on thread.
