Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum and I’m really excited to be part of such a helpful community. I’ve been working on integrating my solar panel system with my home automation setup, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey. However, I’ve encountered a few issues that I’m hoping you can help me with.
I recently installed a PV system on my roof, and I’ve been trying to integrate it into my home automation setup. The integration itself seems to be working smoothly, but there’s one problem that’s been bugging me: the calculated energy consumption doesn’t seem to be accurate. I’ve followed various tutorials and forum posts to set this up, but I’m still not getting the results I expected.
I’ve set up several sensors to monitor the battery charging and discharging, as well as the PV power output. Here’s a quick overview of what I’ve done:
- Battery Charging Power: This sensor tracks how much power is being charged into the battery.
- Battery Discharging Power: This one monitors the power being drawn from the battery.
- PV Power Output: Tracks the energy being generated by the solar panels.
I’ve also set up Riemann sums to calculate the total energy over time for each of these sensors. The goal was to get a clear picture of how much energy is being consumed, stored, and generated throughout the day.
However, there are two main issues I’m facing:
- Negative Values: The system is occasionally showing negative values for energy consumption, which doesn’t make sense in this context.
- Incorrect Consumption Calculation: The calculated energy consumption is significantly lower than what I would expect based on my household usage.
I’ve read that Fronius has updated their integration to provide separate values for charging and discharging power, which should help with more accurate calculations. I’m wondering if there’s a different way to set this up to get the correct consumption values.
I’m really hoping someone with more experience in this area can shed some light on what I might be missing. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
