Do you think it would be better if brands like Aqara were fully integrated into Apple HomeKit, so all camera recordings from a doorbell (even with local storage like a USB or flash drive) could be viewed directly in the Apple Home app, without an iCloud subscription?
Some people think this would hurt the brand, because users would stop using the brand’s own app and lose interest in the ecosystem. Others argue that Apple simply doesn’t want this, since it could reduce iCloud Storage subscriptions. I’m curious which side makes more sense in the long run.
