G100 do not really disable

hi, using the G100 in a automation and disable it themes to only cut the stream to the app, the camera is still streaming to HomeKit and do not go black or disabled, so not really private … any Idea ?

Hi - this is a common quirk with HomeKit secure video cameras. Disabling in Aqara’s app doesn’t disable in HomeKit. To turn off in HomeKit set it to “stream and recording: off.” Unfortunately these settings are only based off of simple location settings, but this is the way to do it.

An alternate approach would be to use the Aqara privacy mode which can be scheduled. I’m not sure if G100 has this like other cameras, so you’ll have to check. But it allows you to block out portions or the whole video.

I don’t have HomeKit, but for example, I know that turning the camera off or enabling privacy mode blocks the image both in the RTSP feed and in the Aqara app.

Yes … found with a hint from here that if HomeKit is enabled, the app only disabled the stream, RTSP and HK still running. Disabling HK stops also the RTSP stream.
