I want to connect my G4 doorbell to my home assistant. I deleted it from apple home but it doesn’t pop up on HA. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
@sennlauwersmx65 I understand you’re encountering some issues connecting your G4 doorbell to your home assistant after removing it from Apple Home. While the reference information doesn’t directly cover integrating the G4 doorbell with home assistant software specifically, I can offer some general advice that may help:
-
Reset the G4 Doorbell: Try resetting your G4 doorbell to ensure it’s in pairing mode. You can do this by holding down the reset button for about 10 seconds.
-
Check the Wi-Fi Network: Make sure your G4 doorbell is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, as it does not support 5 GHz networks. Also, ensure that there are no special characters in your Wi-Fi name or password.
-
Distance and Signal Strength: Ensure that the doorbell is within 5 meters of the chime to avoid potential connection issues.
-
Home Assistant Configuration: Double-check your home assistant’s configuration to ensure it supports the G4 doorbell. You may need to look into any specific integrations or plugins required for the G4.
-
Contact Support: If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Aqara’s customer service for further assistance. You can contact them efficiently through the Aqara Home App under Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service. If you don’t have an Aqara Home account, you can click here to create a ticket.
I hope this helps, and I encourage you to share any additional insights or solutions you find with the community!

If you’ve already removed it from Apple Home, you might want to try resetting the doorbell to factory settings (usually by holding the reset button) and then following Home Assistant’s device addition process again. Sometimes, ensuring the doorbell is in pairing mode and your HA setup is on the same network can help.
