G4 Lingerer Detection Video Late

I’m having an issue where the recorded video from my Lingerer Detection notifications is very late. Most of the time the person is already out of frame by the time the video starts.

The lingerer detection seems to be working, but the recorded video is too late. Any suggestions?

I guess with the G4 it’s similar to the G410, right?
If that’s the case, then take a look at this forum post:

Yeah I did check that. I’m not having any issues with detection actually, its the video that gets recorded for the detection. Even if I set the “Duration of Stay” to 0s the video that gets recorded is late. For example, if someone is dropping off a package, I’ll get the notification but the video starts while the person is walking away almost out of frame. I was hoping with an SD card it would be able to save a few seconds before the detection and a few seconds after to see the whole event. I am on battery, so maybe that is the issue?

Hello, is it possible that you are viewing from the cloud and not from the recording card?

How is your doorbell connected?
With battery, or Power Supply?

As I wrote in the linked forum post about the G410:

A small addition: You can also set up notifications in Apple Home when people or packages are detected.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The hub is on battery power, and I have the same issue with the cloud or the card. I think John D nailed it, the hub is working as intended its just the “loitering” takes a while to trigger. I would have though the firmware would be smart enough that once a loiterer was triggered it saved 5-10s of video before the detection, but I guess not. Maybe I’ll try the apple homekit video recording

I’ve just seen the post. I suppose that applies to the G4 as well.
