G4 sudden battery failure

I’ve had a G4 doorbell running on batteries for a couple of years now, and until this week it’s been absolutely brilliant - so good it convinced me to replace my old lock with an Aqara one (also brilliant). However, this week I’ve had to changed the batteries in the G4 twice already and it’s still only Wednesday. I’m using Panasonic Envelop batteries, fully charged with full battery health - the last set I put in were brand new and lasted 23 hours. Previously I was getting 3 to 4 months out of every battery change - I’ve got activity zones configured so that the doorbell doesn’t react to anything on the street, only on our actual property - so it’s barely having to do any work at all.
The Aqara app shows my doorbell as running firmware 4.0.6_0018.0068 if that makes a difference.

Can anyone help me diagnose what’s going on?

Hi. Take a look at the list below. I recently made this list. It’s about the differences between batteries. If I understand correctly, Panasonic Eneloop batteries are NiMH rechargeable batteries, right? These batteries only have 1.2 V, whereas normal batteries have 1.5 V. My G410 doorbell has six batteries, and I think the G4 is the same. Six cells therefore only supply 7.2 V instead of the 9.0 V achieved with alkaline batteries. This means that the doorbell’s electronics can reach their lower voltage limit very quickly, resulting in “low battery” warnings.
