Installed the doorbell camera a few months ago and ordered a plug in adapter from Amazon for 20 bucks and this camera is picking up everything. I was having trouble prior with it missing people if they were moving too quick.
Hello @xjqjr8hf6n
Welcome to the Aqara forum. I hope you’re okay now; sometimes this happens when people move too fast.
It’s amazing. Love it. Just hope HomeKit allows for the 2k quality in the future.
We are strongly considering this doorbell to replace the Ring. It seems like a great option.
I replaced my ring camera. HomeKit was the huge selling point for me. I already pay for cloud storage so no 10 dollars a month recording cost. I also love the notification being only if it sees a person or whatever you have set.
Did you get the G410? I want to replace my Arlo doorbell camera.
Yup! HomeKit Secure video was a huge selling point.
Hi! Could you please tell me more about the adapter? I’m having the same issue with my doorbell missing people if they move too quickly. How does the adapter help? Would love to get one myself if it improves situation as it can be a little annoying.
Cheers, Ella
Search Amazon for a Doorbell Transformer 24V Adapter for Ring Video Doorbell
Totally agree. I had Blink cameras and doorbells and replaced everything with Aqara. At first I had batteries in G4 and G410 doorbells. The 410 went through the batteries in about 2 weeks so I decided to buy plug-in transformers for both on Amazon
. I ran the wires in some wire tracks that I painted to match. I also got those on Amazon.
Easily one of the best purchases. I have one setup with a plug in transformer as I didn’t want to run another traditional transformer. An added bonus is RTSP when powered.
Can you tell me which of the wire connectors inside is “+” and which is “-“. i dont see any marking on them. Tks
I intend to connect it to 12V DC supply.
It doesn’t matter.
I was fortunate enough to be able to put this where there was a traditional doorbell and I agree it works a treat when wired
Was yours AC or DC?
As replied, does it matter?
DC has positive and negative.
AC has live and neutral.
We are generally told to connect to the correct ones to avoid damaging the electronics.
AC there was a transformer from my original bell that fortunately send the correct voltage and I think for low voltage electronics and certainly the G410 the polarity isn’t a problem you can connect either way round unless someone wants to correct me. Just don’t follow that advice with 240v mains socket then it’s super important ![]()
