G410 False Motion Activation and No exclusion Zones

Hi, I have recently purchased a G410 doorbell and I have to say that I’m pretty disappointed. I keep getting false motion alerts despite my best efforts and by even using the privacy masked area which hides the tree which I assumed is setting off the motion activation. Not only that, I’m unimpressed that there are no exclusion zones which still enable the image to be displayed and recorded. I.e. if I use the privacy masked area, then that area becomes blacked out on my feed. I understand the logic of masking areas but the option of an exclusion zone where the feed is still visible would be more important. Everything aside, Im still getting false alerts despite altering all settings. Please help!

As you can see, the bush to the left of the image which is close to the door is causing the issue, masking the tree then hides.most of my drive. Hence the preferred exclusion zone. Alternatively, there should be a minimum sensing distance as well as the max distance. @AqaraOfficial please can you use my advice and update your firmware to suit

Hi @stueyhughes47 -

Can you share a screenshot of your settings under AI Detection > lingerer detections? You can set distances there.

What do you care about capturing in recordings? If you enable proximity sensor you’ll cut out a lot of those false alerts, but then the doorbell primarily captures people coming toward the door.

Also do you use any other ecosystem besides the Aqara app, like Apple Home? You might get more zone control if you use that integration.

Hi, thanks for the swift response. I like to playback video and see who’s been on the driveway on occasion…Also I use RTSP to have a nosey outside as I have this running on a dashboard for example… As you can see, when i set up my privacy masked area, then I lose a portion of my driveway visibility. The other Eco system I use is Hubitat which has practically zero functionality with Aqara, more a read only function…See what you think. Appreciated :+1:
