G410 NAS Connectivity

Recently tried to do local backups of my SD card to my NAS for further image processing. It initially successfully connects to my share and starts to write the first mp4, but then stops and gives a “Configuration Error, cannot transmit video” error. At this point it has created several folders and has written part of a file (always gives up at exactly 2.3 MB). It’ll periodically retry, but always fails at the same point. I’ve manually written larger files for testing. Are there some settings that I’m missing that would cause this? I’ve tried removing and re-added the NAS connection several times.

I suggest checking your NAS settings regarding the protocol versions. First try setting the Maximum SMB Protocol to SMB3, and if that doesn’t work, test forcing SMB2. Additionally, make sure to check that SMB Signing is set to Disable (or Auto) and that Transport Encryption is turned off.

Thanks for the suggestions, just ran through all of these and unfortunately experiencing the same issues. It’s strange because it does write the majority of the first video (2.2 out 2.3 MB) and then gives up at the same point every time.

Could you try testing the connection to the camera by using either another NAS or a shared folder? Do you have a Windows PC or a router with NAS, such as a FritzBox?

Good thought. I was able to get it to back everything up on a guest account to a test share on a Windows PC, but not with anything password based. Digging deeper through my NAS access logs, I’m seeing successful “folder creation” and then a successful “write” that it doesn’t complete. Using a Qnap Nas if it makes a difference

Have you checked all the logs? The system logs, the access logs, and so on?
If you could post the exact wording or screenshots of the error messages you are receiving, that would be very helpful.
