I first installed my G410 a few months ago, with no issues at the time. Notifications from “lingerers” or button pushing was as fast as our old Nest doorbell. But over time, notifications have become very delayed.
There’s now a 10-15 second delay between activity at the doorbell and anyone getting a notification on their phone from the Aqara app.
I have connected to HomeKit, but I’m not currently getting notifications from it. Could this be a cause of the delay somehow? I wouldn’t think so…
My HomeKit hub is an AppleTV pretty far away on the other side of the house (but on wired internet). But again… I’m not even using HomeKit for notifications, just the Aqara app.
Both the doorbell and the chime are pretty close to my main WiFi router, and I have good internet speed and latency.
The doorbell is hardwired.
I have an M100 Hub plugged into the same main WiFi router that is closest to the doorbell and chime, but the doorbell is it’s own hub, correct? This shouldn’t be causing a problem?
Viewing the camera with the app open, there’s almost no delay in the video feed… less than a second.
Any troubleshooting tips?
Could there be a cache or something that is filling that I need to clear?
I’m at a loss, and my wife is fed up. I spent a month reading about doorbells and decided this had the best mix of features I wanted. If I can’t fix this, I’ll be ripping it out and putting in a Ring… don’t do that to me, Aqara!
