I have the Aqara Camera G5, and I keep receiving repeated vehicle detection alerts, even though my car is completely parked and hasn’t moved at all.
The camera is positioned less than 3 meters away from the vehicle. Detection sensitivity is currently set to High, and the detection interval is set to 1 minute.
I’ve also adjusted the activity zones to exclude as much of the car as possible, but the alerts still keep coming every few minutes.
Both the firmware and the Aqara Home app are up to date.
Is there a way to reduce or disable vehicle detection for parked cars? I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions from others who have encountered this issue.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Aqara Camera G5. It sounds like you’re having a bit of a challenge with the vehicle detection feature. The G5’s vehicle detection is designed to recognize vehicles based on their appearance, color, and other features, rather than movement. When the sensitivity is set to high, the camera can be quite responsive to any slight change it detects, which might explain the repeated alerts even though your car is stationary.
To address this, you might consider adjusting the sensitivity of the detection settings. Lowering the sensitivity can reduce false alerts from parked vehicles. Additionally, reviewing the positioning of the camera might also help. The recommended installation for optimal vehicle detection is 2-3 meters above ground and ideally positioned to capture a broad area around the vehicle. However, if your camera is already optimally placed, focusing on sensitivity adjustments might be your best bet.
Feel free to share any further insights or adjustments you make, as it could greatly benefit others in the community facing similar issues. Good luck, and I hope this helps solve the alert problem!
@Marc3k It seems like you’ve tried lowering the sensitivity, but the issue persists. The Aqara Camera G5’s vehicle detection is primarily designed to recognize vehicles based on visual features, and sometimes even minimal changes can trigger detections. Unfortunately, the reference information doesn’t provide a specific solution for completely disabling vehicle detection for parked cars.
Given this situation, I recommend continuing to tweak the activity zones and sensitivity settings. Also, ensure that the camera is optimally placed in terms of height and angle, as sometimes slight adjustments can make a significant difference. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, I suggest reaching out to the community for more insights or contacting the Aqara Customer Service Team for further assistance. They might have more advanced solutions or updates for such scenarios.

The vehicle detection feature of the Camera G5 Pro does not repeatedly push messages to stationary vehicles. It only triggers new detection notifications when there are moving vehicles in the video. Please provide some videos for me to use to determine if it is a false detection by the camera. I have provided how to download these videos in the screenshot below:
got it, I have provided the detection video you sent to the engineer for analysis, and they told me that it was because the shadow projected by the leaves on the car continued to float, causing the camera to think the vehicle was moving. We will solve this problem soon. Please pay attention to the firmware upgrade instructions on Aqara Home.
