Hi, I have been using my g5 Pro POE for about 7 months now and it has been great. Today we switched internet service providers and I got everything back online and working well. I noticed that there was a firmware update on my camera so I told it to update. the camera shut down when it was supposed to restart but it never did. I gave it a solid 10 minutes to reboot to show up in the aqara app as well as in apple HomeKit. since it would not restart all the way I tried to reset it by removing the back cover and pressing the reset button for 10 seconds (I did it for 1 minute on a timer after it failed to reboot) with no luck. I also rebooted the POE switch, the router, and the main network terminal to eliminate those as potential problems. I also used a cat 6 cable with a usb-c power source to make sure there were no issues with there. No matter what I do it will not load or show blinking lights to reconnect to my network. it is stuck with a solid amber light on doing nothing. I would really like to get my camera back to being useful. any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Also everything else on my network is working flawlessly. all devices and access points are working without any trouble. it is specific to the camera. I can provide any other relevant information if it will help.
Hello, welcome to the forum.
Please contact support at support@aqara.com.
I sent a few emails and haven’t heard back from anyone yet about possible solutions or steps to try. Are there any numbers to call to speak to someone?
Hello, from October 1st to October 8th, there is an official holiday in China, all days off. So you have to wait for working days.
Thank you for the information, I was unaware of that.
Hi,
Have you received any update from Aqara Support.
I have same issue, but it happens by itself not after firmware update.
I think the camera is faulty.
No UPDATE from aqara yet… I have been in contact with them and they are working on finding the problem. I hope to hear soon but as of right now I do not have any answers yet. They have been communicating with me though, so that’s good at least.
I tried this most recent advise below with no luck. Hopefully it will help someone else though.
We recommend that you try pressing the button for about 50 seconds. If the purple light flashes, quickly double-press the button twice, and then use Type-C power supply.
Same issue here. Brand new, and it’s completely bricked. Will just return it - hopefully you’ll get yours fixed!
I have to say thank you to Aqara for their responsive communication after I contacted them about the issue. Their company tried everything they could to get my issue resolved. Unfortunately without taking the camera apart there are limitations but they stand behind their products and warranty. I will be ordering the POE doorbell when it’s available and probably a g100 for a different location in our home.
