G5 Pro Wall Mount

I’m sure I saw in a comment there were plans for an official wall mount for the G5 Pro. Am I correct? Living in the UK we have vertical brick walls rather than overhangs so the camera not being able to swivel due to the small protrusion on the base means we need to use a third party mounts. They tend to be quite plastic and brittle in my experience. Would rather a quality official product.

Yes, the new bracket is expected to be launched in August.

Is there a specification sheet or press release on the new bracket?

I’m also waiting on this before I dive into buying the G5 Pro. Just moved house and want to get 3-4 G5’s but all will need to be wall mounted and able to swivel to be side on to the wall.

I was considering a trip to B&Q and buying any short L shaped bracket and, if need be, drilling extra holes in to accommodate the camera base, as a last resort but I don’t know if anything suitable is available and, more importantly, I don’t know what the mounting base screw hole config is.

An official bracket would definitely be preferable though.

Am in the same boat still. Waiting for some info on the official release. I think the nicest I have seen so far are ones called Smattex which are on Etsy or German Amazon.

I saw this on Etsy thought maybe they would do (bit rustic/industrial looking though) but it would depend on the spacing and configuration of the holes required for the camera.

Just noticed they don’t deliver to the UK from Etsy. That’s a pain because they would have worked.

Wondering now if I should buy a 3D printer

Is this bracket going to be shipped with new G5’s or is it going to be a standalone purchase?

Where do I buy this bracket, please? Both the G100 & G5 need better mounting flexibility - I’m using galvanised angle bracket… they look ugly.

Hi, why you don’t bent the cam in that direction? It’s possible with G5 and G100

… yes, it’s possible to adjust it to these angles but then the image is sideways. The image control allows 180 degree changes (so I can change to upside down) but not for 90 degrees.

So maybe this will be perfect for you G5 mount

Thanks for the link. Yes, this is exactly what is needed, not just for me but many others, I’m sure. Most other camera makers have mounts that can align a camera in this way, I don’t know what Aqara were thinking of when they came up with the current limited angle design. But where can I buy such a mount, please? And also a smaller version is needed for the G100.

Maybe you can have a friend with a 3D printer … there are also companies which make 3D prints for you in each color and material.

Just google for the stl. (That’s the format to print something in 3D ) and the product you need something for. There are lots of free and paid STL. Available

Thanks, but the company that should be making this - or at least providing it - is Aqara. I’m finding Aqara to be brilliant but they also have some very bad points:
PROs

  • Just what you need if like me you’re looking for a Homekit Secure Video camera that also supports RTSP for local NAS
  • G100 camera is at a very attractive price
  • G5 camera has phenomenal colour night vision & also PoE for those who need it. At last a camera that can be used outside at night without using awful black & white IR and free from all those spider/rain false positives.
  • Excellent human detection in the G5: it’s a pity that the algorithm can’t be used in HomeKit, but the excellent automation flexibility in the Aqara app makes up for it.
    CONs
  • The Aqara app: apart from the very good automation options and layout, this app is too complicated: on the iPad in landscape, only half of the screen is usable for viewing recording timelines - and these aren’t easy to find amongst all the clutter. Give me Homekit anytime.
  • The camera mounts of both the G5 and G100 don’t allow for wall mounting at an oblique angle: I don’t know why, a lot of people need tight angles to their walls for their cameras and all other manufacturers ensure that this is possible, usually by supply ball-and-socket fixings.

Whats happening with the mount Aqara? It is januari 2026 now and still no mount?! When is it released? A long time since august…

I already have the camera - all I need now is the bracket which Aqara should have supplied from day one. Any ideas how to get one, please?

I bought two pieces here and been quite happy with them.
