Garden Fountain Automation Success Story

I’ve always loved the serene sound of water, but manually turning on and off my garden fountain was a hassle. Enter automation! :ocean: After some research and trial, I set up a system that automatically turns the fountain on at 8:30 AM when the back door opens and turns it off when I’m away or after sunset. It’s been a game-changer! :star2:

But the journey wasn’t without its bumps. I had to factor in weather conditions—like wind speed and temperature. Turns out, a breeze over 2mph could blow the water stream away, drying out the pump. So, I added a condition to only run the fountain when wind speeds are below 2mph. And to avoid constant on/off switching, I set a 25-minute delay. :hammer_and_wrench:

Another challenge was ensuring the fountain doesn’t run during freezing temperatures. I programmed it to only operate when the temperature is above 45°F, protecting both the pump and tubing. :ice_cube:

This project taught me the importance of considering all variables and being patient with tweaks. It’s rewarding to see everything working seamlessly now! :bulb: If anyone has similar projects or tips, I’d love to hear about them! :star2:
