Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to the community for some guidance on an issue I’m encountering with my GE Z-Wave dimmer. I’ve recently set up Home Assistant on my Raspberry Pi, and while most of my devices are working seamlessly, this particular dimmer is giving me a bit of trouble.
I have a GE Z-Wave non-plus dimmer installed in my office, and I’ve configured it using the standard Generic Z-Wave Dimmer device type in Home Assistant. The setup seemed straightforward, and initially, everything appeared to be working correctly. However, I’ve noticed that when I physically toggle the dimmer switch, there’s no corresponding status update in Home Assistant. This is puzzling because when I manually poll the device, it does return the correct state. All other functionalities of the dimmer, such as adjusting the brightness through the app, seem to work without any issues.
I’m curious if this is a known issue with the GE Z-Wave dimmer or if there might be a specific configuration step I’ve overlooked. Could there be a setting or adjustment that needs to be made within Home Assistant to ensure the dimmer sends status updates upon physical interaction? I’m also wondering if others have experienced similar behavior with their Z-Wave devices and if there’s a workaround or fix that has been effective.
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m eager to resolve this so that my dimmer can function as intended without any manual intervention. Thanks in advance for your help!
